Great review and a great game.

Might have to get it out and have a bash.

I haven't played this in a long time but it is a great game. Nice review, definitely an essential game for the system.

That's one of my favorite games of all time. Spent so many hours playing to master it. Wow that music is great and brings back a lot of memories. Like zapiy, I may have to pull this out and play for a while. Best on rails shooter I can remember playing, save for Soul Star I guess which would be a tie.
Great post. :)

I've been thinking of getting it for my Retron 5.  I'm finding out, however, the most SNES games tend to be quite expensive!  I guess the system's popularity has not dwindled!

Yeah, even common SNES games aren't cheap. Especially if you want the box to go with it! I know some of the older clone systems had a problem with SNES games that had the FX chip in them. I think the Retron 5 is better, but it's probably worth checking around the net to see if there is any compatibility issue before buying any of them :)

According to the review from Retro Collect, the N5 has no issues handling the special chips.  They list Star Fox as one game tested that worked fine. :)

Great game and review!

I always liked this game and also Stunt Race FX (which I think is fantastic).

i remember when this first appeared and how powerful the fx chip was delivering great 3D in a 3-4 year old console at the time, and when we rented it out "remember renting games out from your local video store?" And having a go before deciding whether to purchase it or not, as like even back then they were expensive and fx chip game some what more expensive.

It was a great experience to have played Starfox as a thing of things to come (3DO / PS1) comes to mind, the up side was it had great music, great action pieces, the downside was I couldn't back the cart up on my Pro-Fighter Q. Which I still have to this day, but that's another story lol.
