Simon_G, you should have it in your inbox, if you don't just let me know. A couple have told me it ended up in their SPAM folder for some reason, so make sure to check there as well.

Got it, thanks.

Was just giggling to myself at the GraphicRiver template both you, Retro and my own mag is using lol

Haha, that is awesome!  :21:

I had no idea that Retro is using that template. I knew that a few of the stylistic things looked similar. The funny part is I looked at over 40 different templates at multiple websites as well as consulted a local design firm and ultimately chose the one I did without comparing to anything else out there, just went with gut feel on it.

The choice of using a template didn't result from a lack of ability, more a lack of funds and time. We wanted to do a soft launch of the magazine and spread the word, and then we will continue to evolve. Without going the RETRO route and trying to raise funds we felt the easiest way to get off the ground was by the use of a template for now. We want to always keep it free, it is part of the model for what we are doing. That means we must keep costs to us as low as possible. Hopefully at some point we will pick up some advertising revenue once it is grown to a sufficient size to help offset our costs, at which point I can hire a graphic designer to work up some new ideas for the layout.

I simply don't have the time editing, writing, researching and advertising the magazine to worry about designing the template as well. Perhaps if we went with an every two month schedule I could do it but it was important to us to have it once a month. I think that is the best way to build a loyal audience.

Speaking of templates, Greyfox are you the one who has that gorgeous, colorful Atari magazine? Much impressed!

What kind of magazine do you have Simon_G?

Cheers guys, have a good night!

Yes, I'm the sole designer behind the Atari Gamer Magazine, and many others, Atari ST Gamer magazine, Homebrew Heroes Magazine, Nes-Bit magazine issue 1, and all created from scratch by your truly :)

Here's a sneak peek at the cover for issue 2 of ST Gamer. Whack!!

Hopefully Simon will share something soon, the suspense is killing me :)

Edit: was working on my iPad here, but I have directly linked it above. Hopefully it will work now.

Sometimes the mobile browsers change links.  That may be what happened.
