Coin-Op: The Arcade Guide.
« on: April 04, 2012, 09:33:43 AM »
Coin-Op: The Arcade Guide is a first to take the YOU! down a nostalgic classic arcade trip, covering over 50 vintage arcade games in a onion skin peeled fashion with over 500 original aspect ratio screenshots in their native resolution along with a brief technical breakdown on the hardware used for these machines, classic games like Double Dragon, Dig Dug, Street Fighter and many more that defined gaming forever in the arcades in the 1980's and 1990's then this book is for you, I have spend many hours digitally and professionally remastering the likes of arcade flyers, screenshots and bring life to these great games and give some light and insightful person review on all these classic arcade games.Tthe book will have five dedicated chapters on Beat'em ups, Shootem'ups, Driving games, Action games and Misc arcade games and some extra content like "Did You Know" fantastic trivia about classic arcade games especially researched for Coin-Op: Arcade Guide not yet seen produced in a book of this nature and my personal story and history from an Arcader's perspective living in Dublin, Ireland during the arcade boom of the 1980's and 1990's. The book is now complete and awaiting a plan for publishing and production and distribution in physical form I hope I can address, but in the mean time I wanted to share with you and ask for your help in deciding what Cover design I should go for the book, my faith will be decided on it :) of course these are a Work In process and will either have elements added or removed based on the over all best voted cover design.

so please take the time to look at these three designs and post what you feel appeals to your most about them, you help is most welcomed.

and any Publishers out there interested in producing this, please contact me.

thanks for your reponse..I also chose number one too..I really like the dark moody arcade barn feel to it. As when I was working incorperation with a nameless person  :D, he felt that the brighter one was more commercial..but I know now that he was wrong on that.

Maybe it is more commercial, but is that what retro gamers want? I think you will find the answer is an emphatic NO!

yes..i see where you guys are coming from, but my lovely neon...noooooooo...I thought the dimly lite enviroment would appeal to the people who ventured arcades, but I understand that it has to appeal to everyone, so hmmm...it's a difficult choice...

I think its a moot point as I doubt anyone who wasn't a fan of the subject matter in the first place would buy it anyway.

Well it's still been worked on, so I think I'll be doing a survey when I'm nearer completion , so it should give me an insight to what people would like to pay and so on..and be doing promo videos and the likes..

Okay..I've decided to give you a glimpse / teaser of what to expect in my fourth coming publication Coin-op : The Arcade Guide, I have been working on this for quite some time and wanted to share something about it

This publication is a visual based product which deals with the games themselves, from beatem'ups, Shootem'ups, Driving Games, Action Adventure Games plus more...

below is some of the type of content to expect in this product, regarding pricing, it's not ready to be disclosed as the present, I hoping to create something really special here for the fans of Classic Arcade games, so below is a sample of what to expect from Coin-op:The Arcade Guide.

Beatem'ups[/align:2obsloc2]
Street Fighter[/align:2obsloc2]
[/align:2obsloc2]

Double Dragon[/align:2obsloc2]
[/align:2obsloc2]

Driving Games[/align:2obsloc2]
Road Blasters[/align:2obsloc2]
[/align:2obsloc2]

Introductory pages[/align:2obsloc2]
[/align:2obsloc2]
[/align:2obsloc2]

Okay..I hope you've all enjoyed having a look ..regarding release dates, I'm hoping to have this out very soon, but it's the old saying goes, it will be done, when it's done ;)

That looks bloody incredible!!!!  :o

I will say though that Streetfighter 2 is considered a fighting game and not a beat 'em up (scroll and not 1-on-1)
