My MAME cab
« on: March 19, 2014, 22:32:12 PM »
Good to see there's interest in MAME on this forum.

Here's the bartop cab i designed (but not built....don't have the skills) finally come to fruition. I spared no expense (i'm only having the one so i thought it ought to be the best possible quality)

pretty pleased to be honest. It sounds awesome too! 8)

Cheers mate, been two years in the making but i believe my patience (and deep pockets) has all been worth it. Galaxian is bloody brilliant on it!

Nice, that looks great.  ;)

Still, yours does have a nice and uncluttered look.  8)

I did consider that, but i'm rubbish at Robotron and Smash TV so thought i'd go with the classic set up. Plus it was designed to fit in my wardrobe when not in use and i had height and width constraints.

I've always wanted a full sized Crystal Castles cab but that is very neat. It looks especially cool in the dimmed light showing off the illuminated buttons. And on top of that, it fits in your wardrobe - I recall those adverts for Heineken. You'll see what I mean here 8)

love that ad. Funnily enough the top half of my wardrobe is dedicated to gaming stuff as well, so its even more appropriate.

Gonna have to stop buying clothes soon..... :21:

As for the missus, she knows exactly what it cost and she's not bothered in the slightest. Its been paid for purely from me buying and selling retro gear. I don't look to make huge profits on ebay and such like, but i do make enough to indulge my hobby in the way i see fit. The machine is completely bespoke, so as you can imagine, that doesn't come cheap....but as i said, i'll only ever have this one so its as good as i could get it.

....and many thanks for the warm welcome. Its nice here  :1:

:113: that looks cool, I opted for the 2 player on the cab I build because I had fond memories of playing the arcade games with my mates, but I hardly see my mates anymore lol. Pacman is still one of my favourites to just put on and play
