Saw this a while back but his deadline is approaching quickly. I have asked if he intends to release any more for the Jaguar.

Unfortunately, Escape 2042 did not get funded.  Orion said he'll still release the MegaDrive and GameBoy versions on his site.  Other versions may or may not see release.

Here is another Kickstarter that should be of interest:  Nintendo Oddities & the Homebrew Revolution: Video Game Book.  This is very well pledged already.  :)

Great looking game. It's only $35 too which is cheap!

It does look good and it is not expensive.  I wonder if it'll work with the Retron 5.

Here is a Kickstarter that may spark some interest.  It's a new game for the NES inspired by Robotron:  Spook-o'-tron.

Spook-o’-tron is a Halloween-themed twin-stick shooter for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and PC. Recalling the arcade classics of old, it pits the player against a horde of enemies in a fast-paced race for survival. The game features:

100+ levels of arcade action
8 nefarious enemies
A custom level-editor (Kickstarter exclusive!)
Multiple modes of controller input (dual NES, SNES, even Virtual Boy!)
Save support for high scores
Scoreboard compatability
Art by Chris Cacciatore
Music by Kevin Hanley (KHAN Games)

That looks really good. Cool story behind it too with his daughter helping design it.

Yeah, I thought it was a cool story also.  Who says that girls can't be knights?  :)

I just learned about this and wanted to share it.  Orion currently has a Kickstarter running for a game called Escape 2042.  This game is a fast paced 2D platformer with 2 mini-games included.  The main game features security cameras to avoid, firing enemies, grenades to collect, computer "hacking" to open doors or disable laser protection fields, and level card based locked door in the first prison levels.  The game will take place in 3 different environments (prison, forest, desert) interspersed with 2 mini-games including a reversed shoot'em up and an original abseiling game.

The project is targeted for the following platforms:
-Gameboy (DMG, Pocket, Color, GBA) cartridge + box with manual
-Megadrive PAL (and Genesis NTSC) cartridge + box with manual
-Dreamcast (Region free, Factory pressed CD)
-Windows (Vote for this game on Steam Greenlight !)
-PC-Engine CD (if the Stretch Goal is met)

Check out the campaign here:  Escape 2042

Orion started a thread on AA about possibly changing this to a Jaguar release. The KS obviously isn't going very well so he was trying to gauge support for the Jag instead. Just shows how dedicated Jaguar fans are and how much people are willing to support homebrew development for it as opposed to other consoles that sold much better!

For anyone interested, the game is now available for Genesis/MD and Dreamcast at Orion's site:  http://orionsoft.free.fr/

I haven't backed a KS in a long time, but I couldn't pass this one up.

Next Gen N64 Controller

I rarely use my N64 just because I hate the controller so much so this is exactly what I needed. Looks great and it's not expensive either. They just launched the campaign two days ago and it's already well past the goal.
