Here is a new game appropriate for this time of the year...

A Snow Fort Too Far[/align:1fxxxqc2]

Released by Alien Tree, A Snow Fort Too Far is a combat game now released on Android. The point of the game is for the player's army of children needs to defend their neighborhood against an invading army of the same. Players will have four types of snow-ball soldiers at their disposal, with all four being upgrade-able in different ways.

Players will recruit kids into the snow ball army, as well as build snow forts in the hopes of repelling invaders, and eventually hoping to capture or destroy their snow forts. All of this is done in a side-scrolling fashion.

A Snow Fort Too Far Features:

- Fun, hand drawn graphics in a unique style.
- Multilayered parallax backgrounds.
- Well balanced gameplay.
- Simple enough for new players but layered with complexity for experts.
- Many risk-reward tactics available to the player.
- 4 open Single Player Levels, providing an easy metric for users to test their strategies.
- 2 Single Player Challenge modes:
A. Endless Blue - Hold off for as long as possible against an unending horde of blue soldiers.
B. Crush the Fort - Attempt to capture a well fortified series of snow forts in the shortest time possible.
- 3 Multiplayer levels for 2-player online battle.

Coming soon to the game is a full single-player campaign, new challenge modes, additional multiplayer maps, multiplayer tournament mode, additional powers and soldier types, Relics and load outs. In other words, there's a lot planned for the game.

A Snow Fort Too Far is available from Google Play for free with optional IAPs as well. You can check out the game in action with the video below.

Will try to get to this tomorrow. The reviews I read weren't too promising but it may be a good time killer anyway :113:

I've started playing it and it is cool.  I do have the freemium model, though.  They have the Galaxy-class Enterprise "on sale" for $25!  That is absurd!

Goo Saga

Previously on Android, now out on iOS. A great looking platformer, you can change your 'blob' into 3 different shapes. So if theres a small gap you can change to the flat 'blob' to get through the gap etc. Seems to be a lot of content, premium priced game, no rubbish freemium here.

Some nice games came out the other day, the best is probably Titan Quest. I never played the original on PC but i've heard great things about it and from watching the youtube videos i know i'll love it, think you need a more high end device for this game but i'll be playing this later...

Titan Quest

Also check out Dot Emu's other games, they've done great 'ports' of R-Type/Double Dragon, Little Big Planet and many others

Big hit on the PSP apparently. Never played or seen it before but watched the youtube videos and it looks perfect for iOS. Bought it today (i'll have a go at lunchtime), on a discounted launch price until aug 4th.

Couple of quid but still a bargain and not a crazy installed size

Titan Quest is also available on Android:  Titan Quest at Google Play.

DotEmu also has various other of their titles in Android as well:  DotEmu Games.  Some of those titles include R-Type, Double Dragon, Another World, and Raiden Legacy.
