Yes I have this all 65 gigs of it  :o but have yet to install it as my Xbox hd is full of stuff I don't ever want to lose, so at some stage I have to look into a bigger HD, and migrate everything across, I also have the winueX Amiga collection aswell 7gigs that, so when I manage to sort out a another hd..this will be awesome.

Btw..anyone the maximum gigs of a HD, an Xbox 1 can hold?

Cheers Doug,  ;D

I knew it was something to those numbers, I have 250gig in there ATM, but would love to accommodate the coinop5 and winueX amiga collection, only 72gig extra, s the 250 is full with Xbox and console collections along with a stack of Atari ST menus.

I know what you mean, my 120 gb is full of all sorts, emulators etc. and a few movies as I use the xbox as a media centre for which it is superb.
Just looking at the Coinops download as it looks like a great way to get the best out of the emulation on xbox, doing the small basic file to see what emu's are there updated from what I have. Couldn't download the full set with my internet capped at 60 gigs per month lol. And where would someone host such a file ?(rhetorical question no links lol).

I got the coinop5 full release on the newsgroups, not the net, it's sorta a direct server connection, but requires a monthly fee etc to access, but I'm sure the coin-op would probably used magnets or torrents, but its huge, shame your not in my neck of the neighbourhood , I could of shared it with you as an educational exercise to see it running on an Xbox.

It's a huge collection of machines and game collections and videos of gameplay right out of the fronted, this is what makes it so desirable.. If I find an FTP I'll let you know.

Well I am using MAMEoX It has all the roms I need, and that will not all fit on to a HD, so good luck with the COINOPS , it seems to have everything that was ever made.... ever!

Wow, this looks amazing! How easy is it to replace the XBox hard disk? Mine is soft-modded but still has the original HD.

If you ever changed the hard drive on a pc then it's the same on the original Xbox. Then you can use one of the gamesave hacks to run something like Slayers disc (or others) which will format the drive and partition and set it all up automatically.
Xbox hdd is an IDE interface and one of the first things you would take out to get at anything else inside. If I remember right you need #20 torx bit and  a #15 torx bit to gain access to it.

Thanks for the info Doug! I built my first PC a couple of months back, so I should be ok. What's the difference between IDE and enhanced IDE, and will an enhanced IDE drive work in an XBox? I think I need to do a bit of research...

I've never given the question of IDE/EIDE much thought tbh. As long as the drive has the right connectors it should work in the Xbox. I bought an IDE hdd from Ebay and fitted it. Googling the terms it seems that EIDE was a term used mainly by Western Digital since 1994. I'm pretty sure that most modern drives (except SATA of course) will work in the Xbox, just be aware of the limits of the Bios which seems to dislike anything over 4gb according to what was discovered by the people who pushed the envelope before.
