Baku Baku is a real hidden gem. It is such a shame more people didn't get to play it. I have the Saturn version which got a great PAL version. There's a hidden league mode (sadly untranslated for some reason) that tracks several players versus results. At the intro screen before the title appears press BACUBACU to unlock it..

Love puzzle games, and I love collecting them - particularly versions of Tetris. Tetris is king for me but I am also very fond of Bust a Move, Dr. Mario, Puyo Puyo, Klax and Wetrix.

Kurishi on PS1 is another hidden gem that deserves a bigger audience. Playable on PSN and well worth a try.

Hebereke's Popoon and Heberke's Popoitto are nice Puyo and Dr. Mario variants that are worth a look - they got SNES and PS1/Saturn releases.

Finally - there's a low budget game for Ps1 called Turn About that is a variant on Puzznic but you have to rotate the whole level to move the pieces about - it is highly addictive.

Over good ones on PS1 - Landmaker, One Piece Mansion and Devil Dice (aka Bombastic on PS2). All top quality games. Look out for Puchi Caret too which is a cross between Bust-a-Move and Breakout. Excellent stuff.

Of them all , Puyo Puyo is probably the "best" puzzle game in terms of skill and game design. It isn't as approachable as Tetris though which will always be the overall best in genre and will still be played 100 years from now.

Here is one that I just got that is plenty of fun:  Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine on the Genesis/MD.  Fun, addicting, and with cool music.

I like playing the first few stages in Dr.Robotnik but then the game just get's too hard. Fun for a little while though  :)

Never played either of those or Dr. Robotnik's. All look like fun games.
