Retro News Round up / Re: Sega Dreamcast HDMI Adapter Add-On
« on: April 08, 2015, 14:26:17 PM »

the funny thing is people (not sure if the same) working since 2011 (!!) on such extension. A demo and also more details were provided on other websites as well in the year 2011-2013. Not sure if the HDMI part is really certified so this product can be offered officially or must enter gray market (to avoid paying a fee for not be part of the HDMI consortium but using HDMI connection).

Interesting they are using the digital port of the dreamcast which limit the technology to similar consoles only.

The design is pretty cool and quite easy to adopt. Thats why it is on the list of new projects: an atari 5200 or 7800 in the same cool housing. As i have plenty of single boards it would be not a big task to recreate it.

wow graphically much better than any former games ;-)

Currently having about 5 Videopacs in stock, increasing number....

Even the auction ended as normal all named accounts removed their offers at once yesterday and it seems ebay dealt with it according to their business conducts for auctions. So hopefully this does not happen again and their are consequences for the account owner.

it is forbidden/illegal to bid on own auctions. most likely the account is blocked specially as he does it in the past as well. he uses the accounts to extend it's seller limitations and so preventing to be "commercial" classified (avoid taxes, money back, qarantee etc.)

If you follow ebay auction 161638140583 you will notice bids of a user with name "0***l (678)".
This user is the same! So he bid on his own articles to generate a higher price.

the named accounts are all of the same person. So most likely used in combination.

Here are the details:

Auction, notice same location.

Auction bid list.

an auction of the 2nd user profile "lucy2802" which is "0***l (678)" in the bid list

I hope they sort it out and fix the plot from prometheus to the alien vs predator movies which seems to drift to b-movie quality.

Retro Rogue has posted an update:

- The Yamaha section has been redesigned.

- The memory system has some issues, it's most likely a timing issue that needs to be ironed out.

- Once these are ironed out then the bus partitioning and control system can be fully tested and debugged.

Since there are several revisions of the 7800, if the XM is incompatible with any revision, the serial number(s) will need to be documented and see if there is a corresponding set of serials for a particular incompatible revision of the 7800 and a disclaimer will need to be presented so that anyone who owns that version won't purchase an XM for their system.

No it was marty himself updating on atarimuseum facebook page as aa page is not the info source for any news pn xm... Guess why. Later he posted as retro rogue...

A quick look to the PCB reveals there is a big fat flashrom installed. I'll guess it contains all those nice games....

so by trying to reverse engineer the flash you'll get the format/data stored and are able to replace them.
or simple switch addresslines in the right moment ;-)
