Title: iOS/Android New Releases
Post by: Havantgottaclue on March 12, 2013, 10:33:15 AM
I originally had this in the stickied recommendations thread, but I'm not actually making a recommendation, it's just a heads up on a new release. So I thought I'd create a new thread accordingly.

Usagi Yojimbo returns to gaming for the first time since the late 80s. Quite surprising it's taken this long, since the first game was critically acclaimed.

Here is another new release for Android devices that has been the talk of the day, Real Boxing! Right now this is exclusive for Tegra devices but I'm sure they'll expand compatibility for non-Tegra devices soon (they generally do). Check it out at Google Play. (http://https)

They certainly are!  Graphics like that are what I'd expect to see on OUYA games as well since that is a Tegra device.

Wow, that looks impressive. I can't remember the last time I played a boxing game, but I'll probably give this a go.

Namco Bandai releases their Google Play exclusive Pac-Man + Tournaments game

Namco Bandai loves to keep the world of Pac-Man alive and kicking with new game releases and different variants of our dot eating hero. The company has released a new Pac-Man game called Pac-Man + Tournaments and this is not only a Google Play exclusive game from Namco Bandai, it is also the first time a Pac-Man game has been available as a free-to-play title (in the classic series) since the franchises birth back in May 1980.

What you will get when you download this new Pac-Man game is the original Pac-Man as well as a new Tournaments mode. What this new Tournament Mode will be offering up are new stages every week, never-before-seen mazes available for purchase, achievements and leaderboards, and real-world prizes like Pac-Man memorabilia and gadgets which can be won through participating in tournaments and winning them.

There are a few additional features just to make things a little more interesting such as new color schemes for stages, new bonus items to chomp down on and the ability to see your cumulative score over every game you've ever played.

Namco Bandai does plan to offer up Google Play exclusive DLC in the future for Pac-Man + Tournaments which could indicate that it may make it to other mobile platforms at some point.

Sega announces House of the Dead - The Lost Reels and Godsrule for Android[/align:1kqp8ps7]

Sega has a lot more in store for Android gamers and at GDC 2013 there was another set of games announced that would be heading to Android in the coming months. These newly announced games are House of the Dead: Overkill - The Lost Reels and Godsrule. So there will be a little zombie love and a little MMORTS love heading our way soon.

House of the Dead: Overkill - The Lost Reels, aside from having a rather long name, is an on-rails zombie shooter where you can to roam around doing what all zombie killing games have players do, massacring a ridiculous amount of undead brain eating zombies. While you are roaming around shooting zombies in the face, you will have to watch out and match sure you don't shoot people who are actually alive and not zombies. You also have to stay alive.

There really isn't a whole lot to the game aside from that but then again it is a zombie shooter after all. It'll be mindless fun to enjoy.

On another note, Godsrule is also slated to finally arrive for Android in the near future. Currently available for iOS, Godsrule is a pure MMORTS game where players will control their armies and square off against other players. Each round can have up to four people playing and the goal is really to just conquer everyone.

If you've played any other MMORTS game before then you should feel right at home with this one as well. It has pretty much everything you would hope to find in a good MMORTS game, it just happens to be wrapped up in a more Greek mythology type of theme.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=2x0uOiviQ_c[/align:1kqp8ps7]

Sega has House of the Dead pegged for an April release although the exact date isn't known just yet. Godsrule, on the other hand, has a nice vague 'Spring' release time frame. So you can expect to see Sega titles showing up on a constant basis over the next few months.

This was posted on Android Central today and it is really cool as this company will now bring their successful titles from iOS to Android.  One of those games is He-Man!

I saw a review of the He-Man game for IOS and they weren't very kind to it but I think their main complaint was the touch screen controls. Hopefully that gets fixed for the android version or at least we get the option to use a controller. The source material is perfect for a video game!

They recently expanded the iOS version to also include She-Ra.  Maybe she'll be on this version from the beginning.  :)

I agree. I can't think of very many He-Man or She-Ra games. I am surprised no one has released an MMO game based on either character.

April 23, 2013 Cloanto, publishers of Amiga Forever since 1997, is announcing today the immediate availability of Amiga Forever Essentials on Google Play. The release marks the first of a planned series of Essentials packages for different platforms, in which officially licensed Amiga ROM and OS files are made available for programmatic access by a diversity of open-source emulation engines.

For the Android release, Cloanto worked closely with the developers of UAE4Droid, AnUAE4All, UAE4All2 and other apps to make sure that the Amiga system files are autodetected and easy to use.

We are grateful for the fact that Google Play is open-minded about emulators and GPL components. As such, Android was our ideal candidate for the initial release in the Amiga Forever Essentials series, said Cloanto President Mike Battilana. This makes it possible to keep Amiga emulation accessible, enjoyable and legal in ways that are not always within reach for other systems or platforms.

Amiga Forever Essentials unlocks the potential of different Amiga emulation apps designed for Android, making it possible to play thousands of Amiga titles on Amiga OS versions 1.2, 1.3, 2.04, 3.0 and 3.1 in emulated computers like the Amiga 500 and Amiga 1200. Bonus content like Workbench 1.3 and First Demos disk images let Amiga enthusiasts enjoy memorable classics such as the 1984 Boing demo.

The app is available now for only $0.99 on the Google Play store.

For 99c or 65p it's well worth it for the kick start legal roms alone.

Gameloft's endless flying game Iron Man 3 now landing onto Android

Gameloft's rather unique endless flying game Iron Man 3 has finally arrived onto Google Play and right on time. We've covered the new related to this game over the past couple of weeks as its release neared and now, for those of you who have been waiting, you can download Iron Man 3 onto your Android device and begin blasting enemies out of the sky in true Stark fashion.

If you happened to have missed our previous coverage of Iron Man 3, basically this game is like Temple Run but with a few differences. First, instead of running through a jungle trying to escape pissed off apes, players will be flying through a variety of city landscapes instead. Also, instead of just running away, players will have to dodge oncoming hazards like missiles while using Stark weaponry to shoot down enemies.

While the goal of this game is trying to survive as long as possible, just like most endless running/flying games, Iron Man 3 actually has some boss fights in it where players will confront villains such as Crimson Dynamo and Ezekial Stane. There are also boosters you can buy with money earned in-game as well as different sets of armor and weapons which can also be upgraded the more you play.

Combo Crew will be bringing old school brawling to Android in May

he Combo Crew. Developed by The Game Baker, this is another game that will take you back down memory lane to a time when these games were popular and there were plenty of them to play.

However the Combo Crew has one rather unique feature to it and that is there are no onscreen controls. No onscreen joystick or buttons to mash. The entire control scheme was designed with touch screens in mind so all your moves are based on taps and swipe gestures instead. So you will use a one-finger swipe to punch and kick, tap to counter attack, and two-finger swipe for special combo moves.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... KgIQvZuGjM (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=kKgIQvZuGjM)

Like a true brawler from back in the day, these games are fun to play solo but the real fun is had when you've got a friend or two playing with you. The Combo Crew will be coming with Asynchronous co-op that will work with any Android device. In co-op mode you will be competing against your friends for high scores but you'll also be able to rescue them should they get knocked out.

Along the way there will be plenty of power-ups for you to take advantage of in order to help you out should you get into a tight situation. If you have more than a few minutes to play, there is also an Endless Mode which you can play until you die.

As for when you will be able to get your hands on Combo Crew, right now there is just a general May 2013 release time frame. Until then you can check out the game in action by watching the official trailer above.[/align:3c03gbmu]

Looks to me like a ps1 and poor Superman looks lifeless too..I think yet again, they should of addressed this like the original Taito "Superman" arcade classic, rather than incredible bad texturing bit mapped boxes etc..maybe the temple run idea wasn't so bad after all..

Anyways the superman game on iOS ATM is a great little game, check it out

Here's part of it:

Commander Keen in Keen Dreams released for Android devices

Our first foray into the Android market finds us lucky enough to be a part of the Commander Keen legacy. In the early 1990s, this series forever changed the face of PC gaming by bringing several innovations to the platform. Keen Dreams finds our hero trapped in the land of Tuberia, where he must clean his plate of all the vicious veggies that are out to get him. Full details are available at the official Keen Dreams website.

Right, there is a new Humble Bundle with Android out - number 6, in fact. This one is graced with the presence of Frozen Synapse, which I think looks the pick of the bunch, with three other games making their Android debut: Aquaria, Fractal and Pulse. The pack is rounded off by Broken Sword, Stealth Bastard and Organ Trail, all of which are available on Google Play. Since I only have Broken Sword, this is something of a bargain for me.

EDIT: Stealth Bastard is also new to Android, apparently.

Android Police has videos of all the games ... {link} (http://http)

Tecmo Koei hits up its back catalog for this week's release of Tecmo Game Pack (http://https), a retro gaming compilation available for Android devices via Google Play.

Tecmo Game Pack includes the original arcade version of Tecmo's action-puzzler Solomon's Key, along with the sadistically difficult NES platformer, Mighty Bomb Jack, and the Japan-only, Famicom sumo wrestling sim, Tsuppari Oozumou. All games feature touchscreen controls and offer unlockable bonuses such as arcade flyers and promotional artwork.

Samurai Showdown 2 slices into iOS, Android

The classic Neo Geo fighting game, Samurai Shodown 2, is now on the iOS App Store (http://https) and Google Play (http://https) . The port features customizable controls in the form of virtual touchscreen buttons, which can be placed outside of the game's visual area in "window mode."

All 15 characters are included, and multiplayer matches can be played over Bluetooth.

Slicing things up with Haohmaru, Jubei and the rest of the gang costs a relatively premium price of $8.99/5.99

Previously unreleased Manic Miner game Willy's Great Adventure now on iOS and Android

The early period of home computing was a time of homages and inspiration, when anyone with a PC could, and inevitably did, make games.

And now Elite is set to give you a taste of those heady days of fan-made sequels with the release of Willy's Great Adventure: ZX Spectrum, Terry Lloyd's never-before-seen variation on Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy.

This is a game that's been sat around doing nothing for 28 years, untouched on a hard drive until Lloyd emailed Elite last year to see if the UK studio fancied releasing it.

Willys Great Adventure was developed by Terry Lloyd in 1985, as a homage to Matthew Smiths Miner Willy games. Willys Great Adventure has not previously been released and is believed to be otherwise unknown, until offered to Elite (in an email at 9:50am on 12th July 2012) for publication.
I can confirm it has never seen the light of day. Unless someone stole it off my computer and put it out there without me knowing {:~). I've been playing it through again myself to test it, and I have to say I think it's one of the most complete and totally customized mods out there (in terms of all new rooms, tiles and sprites). Although there are some other good ones I've played, a lot of them keep the original graphics and just have new rooms, while some change the graphics but the rooms and map are very similar to the original. Whereas, WGA changed about 98% of the original stuff (Willy even has a new hat, an Indy-style adventurer's Fedora). - Terry.

I just searched on the App Store (UK) for 'Star Cannon' and the game didn't appear.

'StarCannon' (no space between words) did appear but that's a different game altogether.

Maybe this hasn't been released in all territories yet?

....unless Apple have taken it down already due to possible IP infringement like they did with the utterly sublime Vector Tanks Extreme supposedly following 'Atari' having complained it was a rip-off of Battlezone... which it was but there are still a good number of lesser quality Battlezone rip-offs on the App Store still. :-

From there I selected to view all that dev's iOS games listed on the App Store here and it was the only one. So it seem that the game I'm after either hasn't been released on the App Store here or it's not appearing for some other reason. Thanks for your help guys. FIST OF AWESOME out now on IOS & Android/OUYA

Fist of Awesome is now available on Google Play (http://https) and App Store (http://https) allowing you to punch bears on a variety of platforms. The eccentric beat-em-up is priced $4/2.50. A GameStick version is also due, while extended versions featuring local multiplayer are bearing down on PC and Mac this winter.

The games comes courtesy of Nicoll Hunt, an ex-Realtime Worlds dev who also previously worked on iOS hit Hard Lines. Hunt's Kickstarter for Fist of Awesome was a big success last year, earning over double its 5,000 goal. Then again, a retro beat-em-up starring a time-traveling lumberjack who uppercuts bear-jaws to save the world was always a winner.

FIST OF AWESOME - Launch Trailer (http://http)

I played a demo of this on the OUYA a few months ago and thought it was great, might have to purchase this.

Looks like SNK's The King Of Fighters '97 has made its way onto Android & iOS Devices.  Judging by the reviews on the Google Play Store it would appear that the title is compatible with bluetooth control pads, so that should make the game more enjoyable (over using touchscreen controls).  Check out this video:

SoulCalibur, the 1999 Sega game, has been ported to Android. Unfortunately, it lacks support for external bluetooth gamepads. That's a real minus for this release. Maybe they'll add that on an update. Check out the video below...

Fans of Mickey Mouse get a chance to play Castle of Illusion on their iOS devices. A re-imagined version of the game has been released. It seems to be an identical port to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.

Looking for a Christmas game for your Android or iOS device? Check out Christmas Invaders! Inspired by the classic arcade game (Ed: you know, the one where you shoot invaders), youll be challenged with fending off wave after wave of Christmas themed invaders. Simply tilt your device to control your Christmas tree shooter and eliminate the barrage of oncoming festive attackers. You can even try your luck aiming at Santa and his reindeer for bonus points and lives! Work your way through the increasingly difficult levels with awesome Christmas jumper inspired designs and old school sound effects that will take you back to the good old days.

For anyone looking to emulate the Sega Dreamcast on their Android device, look no further than reicast, a new Dreamcast emulator. The project is currently in Alpha, usability, performance and stability issues are to be expected. We'll fix them the following weeks! As we only have a few android devices, we'd really love to see your videos of it running! Cortex-A9 dualcore, 1ghz+ is the minimum hardware for decent speeds. The Dreamcast BIOS is required for this emulator to work.

In the internal memory of your phone, create a folder named dc, make a folder named data inside it, and put the bios files there (dc_boot.bin, dc_flash.bin). If you are using a file manager, the path for the folder is /sdcard/dc/data/. You should dump these files from your Dreamcast, Google has many tutorials on how to.

I got Zombie Revenge and 18 Wheeler running on this at a decent rate on my JXD s7800, but it had glitches on textures all over the place, also Sonic seems to been of tweaked purely for this Emu, as that's just like playing with a DC in your hand (no pun intended)

I might give PowerStone 2 a shot as I reckon it wouldn't be memory intense and Out Trigger, should be fun :)

wish me luck lol.

Here is another new release for both Android and iOS:  Philia: The Sequel to Elansar.  Elinas husband is now in danger!  Can you save him through Elinas mysterious subconscious?  Explore three worlds and solve over 15 puzzles by trying to understand how they work.  A minimum of 3 hours of gameplay needed to finish the game.

This game is available in French and English. According to information that has been posted, the game will not be ported to the Jaguar like Elansar was.

Well the reason it is not being ported to the Jaguar is that the game is significantly larger.

Any fans of Final Fantasy?  Final Fantasy VI just made it to Android.  A bit pricey for a mobile game ($15.99) but you can now play through the entire Final Fantasy VI title on your phone or tablet, complete and untouched from its original release nearly two decades ago on the SNES.  Check it out in the Play Store (http://https).

Not a game but for anyone interested in emulating the Atari ST on their Android devices, have a look at Hataroid.

Description
Hataroid is an (in development) Android port of the open source Atari ST / STE and Atari Falcon emulator Hatari.
Source code is available on github (see the help screen).
If you can help out with art, code or suggestions, please do so.
Required permission:
- read/write external storage. This is needed to read files from sdcard on newer versions of android (will later need this anyway for save state support).
- Current features include:
- Atari ST / STE support
- Color/Mono monitor support
- On screen controls and virtual keyboard supporting all the Atari keys
- Fully scalable and moveable screen and keyboard
- Mouse emulation
- Audio emulation
- Zip file support
- And lot's more...!
As it's written in portable C, you need a minimum 800mhz (>1000mhz recommended) device to get full speed. This shouldn't be an issue with any devices produced in the last few years.
This is still being actively developed, and there's a lot of features on the pending list, so let me know if you want anything pushed up in priority.
Also feel free to let me know about any bugs or feature requests or if you want to help out.
Atari, ST, STE and Atari Falcon are registered trademarks of Atari Inc, All Rights Reserved.

Title: Coktel Vision's Gobliiins gets the Android Treatment :)
Post by: Greyfox on February 23, 2014, 22:08:29 PM
(http://i58.tinypic.com/2pq18o8.jpg)[/align:1ohsw9lt]

While most point 'n' click adventure fans flock to Lucasarts' and Sierra's early output to get their adventure fix, there are several stand-out titles released by smaller studios worth checking out too. Coktel Vision's Gobliiins Trilogy which first saw release in 1991 is one of these iconic titles, and one which has finally been given a modern re-release on touchscreen devices.

Although this trilogy is a new arrival on the Google Play store, owners of Apple iPhones and iPads have already been enjoying this first title in this early home computer trilogy for four years. This long wait may have been a difficult time for retro gaming Android owners, they can now hold their heads up high due to the fact that the Gobliiins app now on Google Play instead includes all three of Coktel Vision's classics.

The Gobliiins Trilogy can now be downloaded from Google Play for 2.69.
The Gobliiins Trilogy (Trailer)

www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBZBdLet0s4 (http://http)[/align:1ohsw9lt]

Gobliiins Trilogy is a compilation of three games including Gobliiins, Gobliins 2 and Goblins 3. Released successively one after the other from 1991 to 1993 on PC, those pointnclick classics are now available on Android in a new version specifically enhanced for mobiles & tablets.

In the first game, play the adventures of Oops, Asgard and Ignatius (also known as Dwayne, Hooter and BoBo in US) who are looking for a remedy to cure the king Angoulafre. Each character has specific abilities so you will need to play with them alternatively to succeed all the different levels.

In the second one, two goblins have to find and free the Prince. You will alternate between two diametrically opposed characters once again to reach your goals! Finally, in the last game and certainly the funniest, you play as a journalist goblin in charge of a report about the conflict between the queen and the king. However, a forced landing will upset his life: he fall in love with the Princess Winona and find himself in conflict, and then was bitten by a werewolf...

Features:

New interface specially redesigned for mobile & tablet
Two control modes: Touch and classique
New gameplay adapted to the touch
Choose between original graphics or video filtering (for rich, smooth graphics)
Hotspot system : highlight interaction areas if necessary
Hint system : progressive hints on players request
Original soundtrack

Funny and mysterious adventures, original puzzles, colorful game with cartoon graphics, Gobliiins Trilogy offers you hours of fun at your fingertips!

Wizard Golf RPG

Wizard Golf RPG is a unique combination of dungeon-crawling and  golf.

Playing as a wizard, you charge your spell up with a power bar (just like the swing in a golf game), aim, and then release, picking up potions and items as you go.

Heres a video from the games developers:

Wizard Golf RPG (http://http)

This could be the best alternative golf game since the amazing Ninja Golf on the Atari 7800 and will be coming to iOS, Android, and PC later this year.

Here is a new game for Android that was inspired by the old LCD games, Tennis Simulator. It's a game with simple gameplay but worth checking out. It reminds me of the Atari 2600 tennis games. :)

Description

Are yoy a 90's nostalgic? Did you use to play with LCD handheld games? Tennis Simulator is the game for you. Either player, cpu and the ball will move in a discrete way. That means, there are just some finite positions for each entity in the game scene. The goal is to catch the ball until it goes behind, and to chose the right shot to make point and defeat cpu.

This should be of interest for iOS owners...

As slick as Apple's range of devices are, they just don't have the edge over Android equivalents due to the wealth of retro gaming emulators available on the Play Store. That said, some clever hackers have somehow managed to get Super Nintendo classics up and running on iPhones and iPads, similar to the way Game Boy Advance games arrived on iOS earlier this year.

SiOS is an all new Super Nintendo emulator for iOS which can be installed on any device running firmware version 8.0.2. Using a small exploit in the date and time settings, developer Lucas Mendes Meng has managed to allow non-jailbroken devices to run the likes of Super Mario World, F-Zero and Zelda: A Link to the Past with very little effort. While the hack itself may be fairly easy, it's worth noting that this is not approved by Apple and could potentially void your warranty.

If you're willing to take a plunge into the world of tweaking and emulation, Apple fan website Cult of Mac has detailed how to get 16-bit gaming on the go.

Yes it is! I'm still playing a couple of hours every night, which I've said is not like me esp with ios games, normally play for 10 mins and never play again!

I've completed the first two licences and amature set of races, the difficulty setting is just right as the earlier stages are challenging but not too much to put you off.
Plus the added stuff like weapons and coins to buy new boats and upgrades is great.

Best 1.49 I've spent this year!

Here is a game that I'm sure will be of interest to retro gamers everywhere:  Q*bert: Rebooted.  Currently only compatible with Android TV.  Here is the official description of the game from Google Play:

Q*bert is Back @!#?@!
One of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful arcade games of the 1980s is back in its Classic pixel perfect 2D form, and a re-imagined Reboot version with state of the art 3D game-play and graphics that remain faithful to the original concept. Both versions are exciting twitch games requiring keen puzzle solving skills and logic.
First introduced in 1982 by Gottlieb, Q*bert was critically-acclaimed and eventually placed in the top 3 most successful arcade games of all time (together with Pac-Man and Donkey Kong). It inspired home versions, a variety of Q*bert merchandise, numerous copycat games and even an animated TV series.
Q*bert Classic stays true to the original in all its jagged 2D pixel art glory, now optimized for Android TV with gamepad controls. As the title character, players jump around an isometric cube pyramid and convert each blocks color while avoiding familiar adversaries Coily, Ugg, Slick, Sam, Wrong Way and Red Ball. Levels become progressively harder with more enemies blocking your path and the tiles requiring multiple jumps to change to the required color.
Q*bert Rebooted takes the arcade classic and catapults it into the 21st century 3D game play that takes full advantage of todays technologies yet remains faithful to the original Q*bert. Featuring hexagonal blocks instead of squares, Q*bert Rebooted introduces new enemies, playable characters, power-ups, traps, gem collecting and characters, and new ways to play.
Q*bert Rebooted highlights:
3 New Enemies the classic cast of adversaries are joined by new enemies Homer, Uppercut and Treasure Chest
7 New Playable Characters introducing Q*zard, Q*bertha, Q*bot, Q*zilla, Q*tee, Q*knight and Q*nicorn, all based on the original Q*bert form

Haven't posted here in a bit.  Just found this new game that I think is quite fun and original.  Inspired by the pattern lock system used on Android devices, Epic Pixel, LLC has developed a game called Neon Hack: Pattern Lock Puzzle.  If you like puzzle games, you're sure to enjoy this game.

Neon Hack is a brain game inspired by your phones pattern lock system
Crack the pattern lock and hack into the system. Swipe the correct path to match the given neon light pattern and pop the lock. As a hacker, dont expect a walk in the park. Some of the patterns may seem easy, but youll have to use your brain training and concentration if you want to pop the lock in each level.

Swipe to light up the neon dots. Connect the dots in the right sequence to create a unique lock pattern. Match the unique lock pattern in hundreds of levels in this brain training neon puzzler. Neon Hack is a great brain trainer. Try out this mental workout to improve attention, concentration, and neuroplasticity. Train your brain and let the current flow through your fingers.

Relax and let the levels flow by. There are four level packs included with the game release: Glow Pack, Neon Dots, Mind Teaser, and Current Flow. Additional levels will be added with future updates. Connect the dots in this pattern matching puzzler now.

Rules:
Start at any dot to turn on your first light.
Swipe vertically or horizontally to light up neighboring dots.
Undo your moves by going back to the previous dot.
Swiping over an already lit dot will change its color.
Try to crack the pattern lock in each level.

Previously on Android, now out on iOS. A great looking platformer, you can change your 'blob' into 3 different shapes. So if theres a small gap you can change to the flat 'blob' to get through the gap etc. Seems to be a lot of content, premium priced game, no rubbish freemium here.

Big hit on the PSP apparently. Never played or seen it before but watched the youtube videos and it looks perfect for iOS. Bought it today (i'll have a go at lunchtime), on a discounted launch price until aug 4th.

Couple of quid but still a bargain and not a crazy installed size

Titan Quest is also available on Android:  Titan Quest at Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dotemu.titanquest).

DotEmu also has various other of their titles in Android as well:  DotEmu Games (https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=5507025021813359851).  Some of those titles include R-Type, Double Dragon, Another World, and Raiden Legacy.

Yeah i love Dot Emu.  They've also done Little Big Adventure which i've seen before online and in magazines but never played. Bought that quickly and most of their games.

Have a lot of them on MAME on my phone but i want to support the devs specially DotEmu so i've bought nearly all their games. Looking forward to their future games, one of the best iOS developers

Nintendo will be releasing a new game on both iOS and Android:  Super Mario Run!  The game was announced today on the Apple event.   It will be released for iOS first and will then come to Android "at some point" according to a Nintendo spokesperson.

I love gaming on iOS, have 500+ games installed currently and buy loads. This game doesnt blow me away as i'm not keen on runner games (prefer left/right controls) but it does look good and it appears its free and one price to unlock (bit like shareware) so thats great. I hope it does make Nintendo a lot of money so they release more and more games like this (not like that crappy Minimoto one)

This will sell by the bucketload. Frustrating thing is theres some great runner games already (Rayman) but a lot of casual users probably wont get that, due to Marios name on this they will though

A nice retro style platformer came out the other week - Vulture Island

Well worth picking up, controls well, quite tricky puzzles as well but a great retro looking platformer. They're the same people who released Traps n Gemstones (another iOS classic platformer) which is again well worth checking out

Another retro style platformer which just cameout is Tons of Bullets. Blocky retro style graphics but so far a really nice platformer with a fair few levels. Bargain for a quid or two

Also dont know if i've mentioned this before or not. For $10 a year you can sign up to the apps at builds.io

Been with them a few years now. I used to be jailbroken but i'm not anymore (new phone so new updated iOS) and builds.io works fine on that. I think they're basically using a 'developer' license to distribute the apps.

Got both gameboy apps working fine, Nintendo DS works well on my iphone 6, NES/SNES and many others - N64 etc. Well worth signing up to. Great to have these emulators on my non-jailbroken phone

Just wanted to share this:  Super Mario Run for Android will launch in March (http://www.phonedog.com/2017/01/18/super-mario-run-android-launch-march).  So, if you have an Android device and were waiting for this game, the wait is almost over.

I'm torn on Mario Run. I'm glad Marios on iOS and i dont mind the hefty price tag (i think more games should be priced higher) but to make it so you have to have an internet connection (to 'stop' piracy) is frustrating at times. But either way i'm glad its not a freemium game
